Located in the Blue Ridge Foothills of North Carolina, The Firehouse Inn offers six unique, spacious rooms and suites for you to choose from. We are driving distance from Asheville, Spartanburg, and Charlotte, making The Firehouse Inn the perfect location for a weekend getaway, family vacation, or romantic escape.

Our Inn

Just a block from historic downtown Rutherfordton, North Carolina, The Firehouse Inn was originally the town's city hall and firehouse. The building was completely renovated and restored to create today's Firehouse Inn.

Our inn features European decor, with six elegantly appointed rooms, including the spacious Firehouse Suite, a relaxing, private apartment. The apartment is perfect for business travelers or extended stays.

Our Area

When you stay at The Firehouse Inn, in historic Rutherfordton, North Carolina, you have easy access to everything western North Carolina has to offer.

For example, Rutherfordton, established in 1787, is one of North Carolina's oldest towns. It has numerous sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Bechtler Mint Site, Fox Haven Plantation, and the Main Street Historic District.

In addition, Tryon International Equestrian Center, one of the premier locations for equestrian activities, is a short drive from the inn. The center offers activities for both spectators and competitors, as well as many dining opportunities.

If you're looking for outdoor activities, we are just a few minutes from several of North Carolina's most popular parks and attractions: Lake Lure Beach, South Mountains State Park, and Chimney Rock State Park, just to name a few.

Events

The Firehouse offers you a unique atmosphere for your wedding, bridal shower, anniversary, reunion or other event.

With inside seating for 30 guests, and outside room for 75 guests, we can help you create the perfect arrangements for your special occasion. All events have exclusive access to an Event Coordinator.

Looking for a place to have your next corporate retreat? You can rent out the entire inn and we can help you plan training, speakers, events and activities.

The Firehouse Inn offers a variety of accommodations to meet your unique needs. Choose from six elegant, spacious rooms and suites.

Suite One

The Firehouse Suite includes a king bed, fireplace, and walk-in closet. Private bath, with whirlpool tub.
room 2

Room Two

Queen bed, plus loft area with two single beds. Fireplace, and private bath with large walk-in shower.
room 3

Room Three

Queen bed, plus loft area with two single beds. Fireplace, and private bath with tub and shower.
room 4

Room Four

King bed, high ceilings, and lots of privacy in an intimate setting. Private bath with walk-in shower.  
room 5

Room Five

Queen bed, two armchairs, and Bose music system. Private bath with walk-in shower.
room 6

Suite Six

Large apartment on ground floor. Two queen beds, and twin beds. Perfect for extended stays. 

Business Travelers

The Firehouse Inn is an excellent location for business travelers. We have a large outdoor courtyard perfect for meetings and after-work get-togethers. We also have a large gathering room inside the inn, with tables, chairs, and couches.

Our apartment suite provides ample room for the overnight business traveler who may need to have smaller meetings in a private living room.

Overall, The Firehouse Inn is equipped with everything the business traveler needs for a successful trip. We can even help support your company retreat with planning activities, speakers and an itinerary.

We return often to this friendly, comfortable in-town B&B. With 6 pet-friendly guest rooms, common living/dining area, porch, and enclosed landscaped yard, Firehouse Inn is a comfortable home away from home. Hot breakfast and all day snacks, too. Donna is an excellent chef & is so helpful, she makes each of our stays delightful!

Our two night stay at The Firehouse Inn exceeded every expectation. Starting with the ease of checking in, the quaintly decorated inn and to our spacious bedroom with a comfortable bed. At breakfast we were greeted by Chef Donna, a lovely lady and a great cook. Kitty the owner was so nice and kind. She checked on us daily to make sure everything was ok. We felt right at home at The Firehouse Inn. You’ll not be disappointed!

This was our first time staying here or any bed and breakfast for that matter. This was a dream place for us. So beautiful so nice. We stayed in room 2. We will be back. We plan to bring our 13 yr old next time. The loft in room 2 would be perfect. Thank u to our chef as well. The breakfast was so good. She is so nice and was very attentive to us.
